Handicap Analysis
RaceMetrics has launched Handicap Analysis, a dedicated tab on every handicap racecard designed to surface three key signals for race assessment.
What the three signals show
- Speed-Form vs class par: Compares a horse's recorded speed and form against the class standard for the race.
- Mark Edge vs last winning OR: Measures margin advantage relative to the official rating of the last winner.
- Hot/Soft Index: A race-level metric indicating conditions across the field.
Scope and data separation
All historical data for Handicap Analysis is scoped to today's race-type only. Turf Flat, All-Weather, Chase and Hurdle records are kept separate, ensuring that comparisons reflect like-for-like conditions.
Where to find it
The Handicap Analysis tab appears on every handicap racecard in the RaceMetrics platform. Full details on use are available in the Handicap Analysis help guide.
